AUCTION OR CONSIGNMENT?
We find the right way to sell it.
Different items call for different strategies. We consider the quantity, value, demand, condition, timeline and location before recommending a selling path.
ONLINE AUCTIONS
Best for larger groups.
Online auctions are often the strongest fit for estates, downsizing projects, business liquidations, complete collections and multiple saleable items. We organize the lots, photography, descriptions, marketing, bidding and settlement.
CONSIGNMENT SALES
Best for select individual pieces.
Consignment may be a better fit for individual or smaller groups of desirable vintage items, toys, video games, collectibles, furniture and décor. Accepted items may be offered through Facebook Marketplace or another sales channel selected for the item.
Consignment is reviewed and accepted case by case.
WHAT SELLS? MORE THAN YOU MAY THINK.
Beautiful. Useful. Collectible.
Wonderfully odd.
Collectibles & Antiques
Vintage toys, advertising, art glass, jewelry, pottery, records, coins, sports memorabilia and unusual collections.
Furniture & Home
Quality furniture, lamps, artwork, décor, kitchenware, seasonal items and useful household goods.
Tools & Business
Shop tools, lawn and garden equipment, farm items, office furniture, commercial equipment and business inventory.
Not sure whether your items are a fit? Send photos. We will give you an honest answer.
HOW SELLING WITH ODD LOT WORKS
You tell us about it. We come to you.
There is no need to sort, organize or set anything up before we visit. A general explanation of what you have and where it is located is enough to get started.
01
Tell us what you have.
Describe the items, the location and what is prompting the sale. Photos are welcome, but you do not need to organize anything for us.
02
We visit you.
We schedule a time to come to the property and look through the items with you in person.
03
We identify the right items.
During the visit, we tell you which items we are interested in accepting and whether auction, consignment or a combination is the best fit.
04
We send the contract and item list.
We send an agreement with an itemized list of everything selected for auction and/or consignment.
05
We return for pickup.
Once the paperwork is complete, we schedule a return visit to pick up the accepted items. Then we handle the photography, listings, marketing and sale.
Common questions before you sell.
Do I need to know what everything is worth?
No. Start with clear photos and an honest description of the amount of property involved. We will review the opportunity with you.
Does everything have to be an antique?
Not at all. Useful tools, quality furniture, household goods, business equipment and modern collectibles may also sell well.
What if some items are not right for auction?
We will be straightforward about what appears saleable and which selling approach makes sense. The goal is a practical plan—not pretending every object is valuable.
Do you accept individual items for consignment?
Yes, when the item or group has enough market demand and value to justify the work involved. Vintage pieces, toys, video games, collectibles, furniture and décor are considered case by case.
Do you provide cleanout or hauling services?
No. Odd Lot focuses on evaluating, organizing and selling appropriate items. We do not provide full-property cleanouts, junk removal or hauling.
Where do you provide service?
Odd Lot Auction Company is based in Otsego, Minnesota, and typically serves sellers within approximately 50 miles. As a licensed Minnesota auctioneer, we may travel farther for the right project.
START WITH PHOTOS. NOT A PERFECT PLAN.
